our vision

 J. SEM INC. Services provides services in standard group care with a strong emphasis on service for high risk youth and large sibling groups: Placements for siblings in one home will ensure the family connectives and we have several houses designed to provide a home for siblings.

We believe in the importance of skilled and therapeutic intervention to stabilize behaviour; enhance the self-worth and dignity of each individual; and to promote healing of childhood neglect, abuse and trauma by using holistic values.

Our guiding principles is to involve a non-institutional holistic approach of joining family values, concrete treatment modalities with unconditional acceptance and guidance in family style-based setting.

They feel at home…more than just having a place to stay.

We believe.....

1) That children are a gift from the Creator

2) That our children have a right to live proudly as First Nations people in the lands of their ancestors

3) That children have a right to learn their respective First Nations language(s) and histories, and adults have a responsibility to pass on the instructions that the Creator gave in the beginning of time as are reflected in our languages, cultural beliefs and cultural practices

4) That each child is part of what makes a community whole

5) That children, under the guidance of Elders, will learn to love learning throughout their life

6) That children acquire knowledge by watching, listening and doing, and adults are responsible for encouraging and guiding them in all those activities

7) That children, through being loved, valued and encouraged, will gain the courage, the strength and the wisdom to use the power of a good mind and spirit in all that they do

8) That children have a right to enjoy the opportunities that education offers

9) That children have a right to live in healthy, self-determining communities that are free of violence
